Ada Whiteaker Dies After Long Illness At 29
Ada Whiteaker aged 29 died Friday July 1908 after a long illness leaving a husband and children. She married Geo Whiteaker October 12 1895 and lived near Monmouth. Funeral from the family home Sunday at 12:30 led by Rev W W Edmondson with burial in the Whiteaker family plot.

Peacock Commuted From Death To Life In Polk County Case
Governor Chamberlain commuted William P. Peacock’s death sentence for the May 18 1903 murder of Alexander Kerr at Parker Station Polk County to life imprisonment. He cited expert medical opinions deeming Peacock mentally irresponsible and urged creation of a dedicated facility for criminal insanity.
