Man Severely Injured When Struck by Stock Train

Dan P. Smythe, a sheep man and lawyer, suffered severe injuries after a stock train moved as he attempted to return to the caboose. His left arm was amputated at the shoulder, and he sustained head injuries including fractures. he was taken to Hot Springs for treatment and was reported resting well with hope for recovery.
