Wanahton Society Hosts First Literary Program

The Wanahton Society held its inaugural literary program last Friday focusing on the life and works of Riley. Monmouth High School’s boys defeated by Stayton in a basketball game last Friday. Monmouth edged ahead though the win went to Stayton. The high school team plans a baseball game with Stayton this afternoon, April 20. Student voters approved a school start time of 4 90 beginning April 39. Work began on the tennis court with girls hoping for completion soon.

Buena Vista Short Stops for Summer Farm Work

Mr and Mrs J A Reynolds eyed their farm as they plan to supervise the new home this summer. They have lived in Independence during winter and will keep children in school term. Visitors included Clifford Welle of Portland Alma Welle of Salem.

Marriage of 76 year old groom and 36 year old bride at Buena Vista

A 76 year old man, W. H. Carreault of Buena Vista, married a 36 year old Beulah Harelson after a visit to the clerk and minister. The Guild farm of 114 1/2 acres south of town was sold today with Idaho buyers, and the Charles Durrell eight acre farm near town sold to John Wood of California.
