Sherman Hays called at the Enterprise Monday and noted the Rose hop yards are busy. A high class minstrel show is planned at the opera house next Monday under Presbyterian ladies. Mrs. C. Young, visiting Independence, rode to Salem Saturday. Pearl Percival, recently in Portland, returned to spend weeks with her parents. Walter Norton of Airlie was in town Monday. he is part of the Enterprise family and took advantage of the premium offer. John Bramberg, the concrete man, extended the Main street walk to Monmouth street.

James K Tetherow Dies at 98 in Oregon Home
James K Tetherow died at his Lacklamute home after a short pneumonia illness. Born April 21, 1846 in North Dallas, he was among Oregon's oldest native-born residents. He married Amanda Crosley about 25, and six children survived him. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Independence Christian Church. burial was in Monmouth cemetery.
