Pomona Sinks After Collision in Dense Milwaukie Fog
In heavy fog the steamer Pomona en route from Portland to Corvallis ran aground on a Milwaukie reef, sank to the main deck. Eighteen passengers used small boats to reach Milwaukie and then Portland by rail. Some remained until the Undine arrived to tow the vessel back to the city. No injuries reported and freight damage avoided.
