White Seal First Boat of Season Delivers Freight and Passengers
After a seven day run sweeping all rivals, the steamer White Seal under Captain Sproule reached this port last Monday evening with 3 passengers and freight including 15 horses. Departing Laberge May 22, rough lake conditions caused 125 tons of freight to miss the lower lake. The voyage brought 80 tons of perishables and the season’s first fresh staff for Sproul Gardner and Kinney outfitting. Passengers listed include Olsen, Lawrence, Fraser, McLeod, Nelson, Gruel, Bleecker, Osgood, Holtman, Mosess, and others. departure to Fairbank planned this afternoon.
