Steamer Delta arrived Dikeman with about 20 passengers and a barge of freight and departed for the mouth of the Iditarod to continue service for the season. Additional cargoes include the Teddy H. and Lois with 35 and 50 tons respectively, plus 13 horses brought by Hutchison & Riley.

Highway Nuisance Trial Clears Willow Street Blockaders
United States district actions led by A J Light charge Niehoff Bourret Soutar Sutherland and Southwick with public nuisance for blocking Willow street with habitations. Jury finds all defendants guilty and orders abatement of the nuisance with bonds posted for appeal. Green later tried likewise and jury also returns a guilty verdict.

Vasele Triumphs In Obvious Wrestling Bout At Iditarod City
A 250 strong crowd watched Vasele defeat O Connors in the main event after Vasele won the first fall in 11 minutes and Yow took the second. Earlier Joe Dukich and Paul Walton wrestled with Walton showing cleverness but Joe securing a fall before the bout ended in a no contest. Referee Tom McCrae ruled the other match off and bets were void. Mrs Barton plans to move to the Kusko region with her daughter Mrs Capt Boerner.

Green Fined For Contempt Of Court
After a jury found Joe Green guilty of obstructing Willow Street, he defiantly began building and boarding up a tent in the site. Deputy Marshal Donovan arrested him. Judge Maltby set bond at 500 dollars. At a Saturday hearing Green was declared guilty of contempt and fined 25 dollars plus costs. advocate J W Dunn urged suspension, promising removal of the obstruction.

About 49 members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles met in Clifton building and elected Henry Roden temporary chairman and Chas A Newton temporary secretary. Seasonal social energy rises as clubs form branches in Iditarod City and creek towns plan dances and entertainment. With winter freezeup, communications improve among creeks, inviting large dances, a new bank hall, and lively gatherings by old timers and newcomers alike.
Big Bank Building Foundations Laid
For a week a large boiler steamed at Bonanza and First as Nestor & Ross lay the foundations for the Miners & Merchants bank building. Posts sink 16 feet to support a two story two by two structure with bank corner and ground floor stores. Upper story offices and a 50 by 60 foot assembly hall. Construction to begin with Nestor lumber arriving from Dikeman.

Suffering from catarrh of the stomach in an aggravated form J. J. Corbett an old-timer of the Northern country lies at the Miners' Home lodging house in this city treated preparatory to being sent outside to a specialist. Corbett has been in the North for 14 years and is known from the head to the mouth of the Yukon and all its tributaries. He is in the charge of his friends who are arranging to send him to Seattle for proper treatment.
