The Civic Disarmament committee ran a Handgun Poll booth at Hyde Park Shopping Center on May 23 from 12 to 6 PM. About 800 coupons were completed, with $34 in voluntary contributions to cover expenses.
Gordon James Arnett 38 was among 270 new attorneys licensed by the Supreme Court in Springfield on May 16. He and wife Miriam have five children and plan a private practice from his home after earning a Juris Doctor last June and passing the February bar. He studied at Northwestern and Roosevelt, then John Marshall Law School while working full time to support his family.
