Hyde Park remembers Tony Crisanti in tornado survival
In 1963 a tornado tore a tree into Tony Crisantis truck near 5300 block University Ave. He and an assistant escaped just before the tree struck. Fire crews used Commonwealth Edison power shutoff to reach the wreckage. Talks about his family reveal four daughters, two grandchildren, and a son entering the University of Illinois Campus Circle. Kathy, a sophomore, made dean’s honor roll last semester.
