DUR bids awarded in Hyde Park Kenwood renewal project
The Chicago Department of Urban Renewal accepted nine bids March 16 for two Hyde Park Kenwood sites. Community Development Co led by Daniel Levin won the 67 882 square foot southwest corner lot at Hyde Park Blvd and Lake Park Ave for 210 434 dollars. Socony Mobil Oil Co bid 37 990 dollars for the 18 090 square foot site on E 53rd St between Kimbark and Kenwood Aves. Minimum was 1 50 per square foot. The Urban Renewal Board later approved selling land to the Hyde Park Neighborhood Club for about 13 000 dollars for facility expansion.
