Hyde Park area to get new street lights citywide
Hyde Park will see a major survey by NORC of 47th to 59th streets Cottage Grove to the Lake to shape future Urban Renewal needs. The Community Conservation Board plans the renewal with SECC, interviewing residents about housing schools parking and recreation while gathering data to guide planners. City officials promised new lights for most of the area by year end, excluding Park District jurisdictions, after pressure from local leaders and University of Chicago officials.
