Newhouse seeks Illinois Senate seat in Chicago district
Richard H. Newhouse Jr., a Negro attorney, announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for the Illinois Senate from the 24th District in Chicago. He will face incumbent Nathan Kinnally, whom he says offers lackluster representation as the district, about 70 percent Black and 30 percent white, stretches from 46th to 73rd wards.
