Aspiring artists start classes at First Unitarian church
Three local women Erin Olson Olivia Olson and Kathy Judge launched color design drawing pottery and figure drawing courses at the First Unitarian church. Taught by Daryl Yasko and Miss Olson the programs run in three sessions from July to September with fees 36 dollars for most subjects 65 dollars for pottery. Call 752-8905 for details.

Day Care Seminars Begin Friday At Circle Campus
The Day Care Crisis council of the Chicago Area announces summer seminars for inner city and suburban youth. The program aims to study day care needs and promote careers in child care while supplying volunteer staff to needy centers. Seminars run Fridays 10 am to noon June 25 through August 6 at University of Illinois Circle Campus.

New site sought for Hyde Park recycling center
A planning meeting to locate a suitable site for the Hyde Park Kenwood Community Conference recycling center will be held at 7 30 p m Wednesday June 23 at the YMCA 1400 East 53rd Street The center was to reopen Saturday at 54th and Kenwood but failed basic requirements such as a vehicle driveway and a land on a one way street Flowers donated by local florists were given to residents who brought cans and bottles to the new location The HPKCC board on June 15 pledged to find and secure a proper site for the center as a community priority.

Summer tutoring program seeks Hyde Park volunteers
The Hyde Park Neighborhood Club invites volunteers to tutor children ages 6 to 12 in reading and math this summer. Sessions run 1 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday with flexible times, one-to-one instruction, and a waiting list of about 10 now expected to grow to 35–40.
