Hyde Park Kenwood seeks new high school petition
The Hyde Park Kenwood Committee for a New High School presents more than 3,600 signatures gathered to back a moderate sized new high school in Hyde Park Kenwood or on nearby land. The petition will be delivered to the Chicago Board of Education and the University of Chicago, with a presentation planned to the Friends of the Schools Committee in June.

Willis open to new local high school says conference director
Conference director Edward H. Palmer reports School Superintendent Benjamin Willis was receptive to the Hyde Park Kenwood call for a new high school. Willis favored smaller 2,250 to 3,000 student schools and opposed abandoning the present school for a large campus. The Hyde Park Kenwood plan seeks two high schools in District 14 by Sept 1967 with enrollment estimates around 6,000 if built.
