Hyde Park awards park sculpture prizes to three students
Three Art Institute students won $200 prizes for park sculpture designs in Hyde Park. Yvonne Hobbs Jerome Skuba and Gary Wojocik were honored at Hyde Park Art Center with prizes for abstract and organic forms to be built next spring under local supervision with community funding.

Hyde Park Bank purchased the controlling interest of the National Bank of Hyde Park at 1525 East 53rd Street in a deal led by Donald O Toole of the Pullman Banking Group. Principal sellers Irwin I Altschuler Adeler J Petit Jr and Lawrence K Schnadig will remain as directors. Joseph M Long elected president and director, succeeding John F McKnight. Total National Bank assets stood above 40.6 million as of December 31 1964.

Hyde Park Kenwood Community Conference urges two new high schools in or near Hyde Park Kenwood to ease overcrowding at Hyde Park High. One would serve Hyde Park Kenwood and part of Woodlawn, the other the rest of Woodlawn, with completion targeted by September 1967.
