The plan to build a city parking lot at 53rd and Lake Park faces review as interim director changes unfold. Mrs. Roothaan remains on staff for unfinished projects while Clapp, appointed June 2, oversees evaluation of William Erickson's proposed revision for Dorchester and 47th Place sites.
At the Conservation Community Council meeting William Erickson proposed a plan for the new city parking lot adding pedestrian walkways and interior landscaping with five fewer spaces. The proposal includes access to Harper Court and 53rd Street, trees in walkway wells, metered spaces, and city oversight by the Parking Bureau led by Thomas Farina. construction could start in 30 to 60 days.
