KECC to honor seven for brotherhood at February observance
The Kenwood Ellis Community Center will merge its annual meeting with a second Brotherhood and Negro History Weeks observance on February 23 at 4608 Greenwood. Seven South Siders will receive awards for “special contributions to brotherhood in action” including Dr. Arthur G. Falls Dr. J H Jackson Samuel A Bell Stella Counselbaum and Willie Eggleston. Etta Moten will be mistress of ceremonies.

University Fails to Attend SWH P Protest Meeting
The University of Chicago did not appear at a South West Hyde Park Neighborhood Association protest meeting last Monday night. Dr. St Clair Drake urged open occupancy across Chicago to ease segregation, while a UC professor suggested interracial living experiments. Chancellor Kimpton and Julian Levi did not attend. Levi criticized debating the issue while a case is before the courts. The association opposes the Redevelopment Plan that would clear four blocks for UC housing for married students.
