University of Chicago to raze two Kenwood structures
The University of Chicago will demolish two 65 year old Kenwood buildings acquired recently. A dilapidated 5617 Kenwood residence will be razed and the site offered to a faculty member or other buyer for a new home. The Whitman student housing cooperative at 5721 Kenwood will also be leveled and the adjacent cooperative apartment site leased for private parking and landscaping.
