Mikva appoints head for Illinois crime victims commission
State Rep. Abner J. Mikva 5545 Kenwood was elected chairman of a new Illinois commission to study compensation for crime victims. The panel, the second of its kind in the United States, held its first meeting last week and will study programs in New Zealand and England while California pursues its own effort. The next meeting is February 8.

University honors Germanic studies professor with fellowship

Park District hearing criticized for Christmas Eve timing

The Hyde Park Neighborhood Club at 5480 Kenwood, a 60 year old group, reports a likely 7000 deficit this year. Treasurer Ingersoll told the Community Fund that its 1965 budget of about 125000 relies on fund grants, with 50000 from the fund and the rest from fees and donations.

Chicago area groups honored for blood donation effort
Sixty six Chicago area companies unions and fraternal organizations received certificates of recognition from the Cooperative Blood Replacement Plan for outstanding continuing contribution to non profit community blood banking.
