Post Office Seeks Housing for Hyde Park Postal Station
The Post Office Department invites bids through December 16 for rental space to house a Hyde Park postal station after the 1312 E. 55th site closed. City Agency OKs Sites For Two Hyde Park Play Lots
The Chicago Plan Commission approved sites at 5324-28 Woodlawn and 5109-15 Greenw od for two new Hyde Park play lots costing 59000 with city council approval pending. The plan leverages a 6000000 bond issue approved last June and includes 32000 for Woodlawn development amidst local group efforts. Alderman Despres and Hyde Park groups pushed for expanded play space, while some residents urge off street parking instead at 5109 Greenwood. The council will decide on Dec 23.
