Lutheran Seminary Nears Fund Goal For New Campus
The Lutheran School of Theology raised over one million dollars in the Development Fund for a new campus and building complex at Seth and Greenwood. Congregations across Illinois Indiana Kentucky Michigan and Wisconsin Upper Michigan Synods contributed, with letters of intent from all four synods totaling 5 481.

The Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago surpassed the 1 million dollar milestone as Rev. Dr. O Garfield Beckstrand II presented a $10,000 check from Trinity Church Rockford to President Dr Stewart W Herman. Calvary Church Southfield doubled its $1725 goal with 2679.58 dollars. A $4.1 million contract to James McHugh Company for a three building complex was awarded in August on the six acre site. Groundbreaking was October 6 with Cornerstone Laying set for April 24 1966.
