Sherry Apartments Hire New Management After Rent Strike
Residents of the Sherry Apartments at 5300 South Shore drive hired Parker-Holsman Realtors to operate the building amid a rent withholding action. About 40 of 134 units participated, with escrow totaling nearly 30 000 since last May. Tenants cited long‑standing maintenance and safety failures including leaks, exposed wires, and a collapsed roof stonework. Owner Thomas Horan was not reached for comment.

Two Hyde Park Home Invaders Sentenced to Long Terms
Two men charged with deviate sexual assault armed robbery and burglary after breaking into an apartment of two Hyde Park women were sentenced to 40 65 years in prison last week. They were arrested after a call from the mother of one victim to the Chicago Police from Maine. Michael Richardson 18 of 708 E 46th St and Ernest Jenning 27 of 905 Bishop in Aurora were involved. The victims lived on Woodlawn Ave.
