Sinai and Sholom board vote yes on merger
Chicago Sinai and Temple Sholom boards voted overwhelmingly for a merger with Sinai 40 3 1 abstain and Sholom 31 10. Membership will vote Sept 23 changed from Sept 16 to decide if two congregations pass by a two thirds majority under state law. Rabbinic leaders warn of Hyde Park impact and discuss two-site future.
