City Reopens Alport Building Case After Violations Found
Hyde Park city officials resumed action against the Alport building at 1500 to 1506 E 53rd after new code violations were found. The first hearing was set for Aug 21 in room 1102 at the Civic Center. The owners include Louis and Allen Alport with business ties to Chicago and city contracts.

The Chicago College of Osteopathy will dedicate a new five million dollar basic science building at 53rd and University on September 27. Dr. Thaddeus P. Kawalek announced the Peckham Science Building honor to Dr. Floyd F. Peckham for 50 years of service. Principal speaker will be Dr. Leonard D. Fenninger with tributes from Andrew Athens and Dr. R. N. Mac Bain.
