Group Works to Unite Hyde Park Schools Teachers
District 14 aims to improve communication between schools and teachers through two channels Teacher Center at Hyde Park YMCA and the year old Project Sharing. Sharing unites 30 member schools in Hyde Park Kenwood with 800 teachers to plan and develop community based educational programs and potential five million dollar funding from House Bill 1492 if approved by the Illinois Supreme Court.

Murray Potpourri Kin dergarten registration and April events
Murray School announces kindergarten registration the week of April 9 through 13 with office calls to FA4-3135 for visits. A student advisory kite contest will fly on April 10 with a prize in each department. April cultural events include sixth graders visiting Kenwood High on April 5 to see You Cant Take It With You, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra String Section performing on April 13. Mr James Ellis brings a jazz session to the school on April 30. Special activities and field trips are planned for the April 23 week previously canceled due to the January teachers strike.

Kenwood Girls Swim Triumph In Two Meets Inaugural Invite
Kenwood girls swim team under Mrs. Barbara Allie dominated its first invitational on February 22 with CVS and Bowen, then won a March 19 dual against Roosevelt. Final invitational scores were Kenwood 95 Bowen 79 CVS 9. dual score Kenwood 64 Roosevelt 30. Lauren Pry Britt Nordin Nancy Roberts and Debbie Sax led with multiple firsts. Girls faced BOE limits, created sport days with the boys’ team support.
