The old business building, 75 by 125 feet, housed college activities until 1904 and will be sold or repurposed as the campus expands. In 1902 the Chicago North Western Railway offered four city blocks as land for a permanent campus, with trustees choosing a 16 acre southwest site for the college.
Huron College lists four college tracks Classical Latin Scientific Modern Language for college and three for academy including Classical Scientific Modern Language. Normal offers a five year course with a two year first grade cert. Commercial music art oratory are also described along with a new building completed in 1904 funded by donors. The building features pink brick Kasota stone trim and a steam electric system with modern heating and kitchen facilities.
Prof Joseph Pipal named instructor in oratory and physical director at Huron College after careful candidate review. His training includes Northwestern University Cumnock School of Oratory, St Louis work, and Harvard Summer School, with prior success at Bellevue College. The college deploys a robust program, dormitories, low costs, and active campus life.
Prof Hochstetler has been chosen as chair of History at Huron College. A Wooster University graduate with extensive preparation, he is described as an all around man and strong student. He will also teach Latin and mathematics and possibly other classes.
The notice shows spring term charges with advances of 235.00 and 6.00 weekly rates. It states rooming students in the downtown building pay less for room, and noncommercial and music students will substitute their rates of tuition in the above tables.
