Washington's Birthday Camp Fire by G A R Boys at Mayor Cleaver Home
The Nineteenth Century Club hosted a Washington Birthday dinner at Mayor J A Cleaver and wife on South Wisconsin street. Thirty five members and their families attended a formal banquet with national colors and hatchet shaped place cards. Speakers included Rev Edson on George Washington Martha Washington and Other Girls Rev J P Anderson and A E Taylor with Mrs Cleaver closing with a club prophecy.

Hackett Elected President at South Dakota Press Meet
The South Dakota Press Association met in Mitchell with 75 to 80 editors in attendance. CHAS. F. HACKETT was elected president, Cogan re elected secretary and editor McDaniels chosen treasurer. A concert and speeches followed at the Commercial Club rooms with welcoming remarks from local officials.
