A reprint of editorials arguing against a proposed constitutional measure, denouncing a triple banking tax as unconstitutional and harmful to monetary interests. The piece condemns centralized power, urges caution on reform, and cites the 1836 hard-money crisis while calling for public consideration before the June vote. It also covers licensing alcohol debates, urging sobriety and moral caution, and notes a Springfield locomotive’s rapid express service between Worcester and Springfield.
A temperance committee urges Cuyahoga County voters to oppose a proposed constitutional amendment allowing a state license to sell intoxicating liquor. Composed by G B Perry, Elisha Taylor, David F Newton, and Edwin L Nevin.
