The Bill Sticker and Braddock’s 1755 march tale
Narrative from the Philadelphia Chronicle recalls the Bill Sticker a veteran of nearly ninety nine years living on a single stick and tells of his frontier father born near Butler’s Chester county home. It recounts Butler’s 1754 55 service in Captain English’s company during Braddock era raids and the two unions of Braddock’s regulars with Jersey provincials marching toward Fort Duquesne in May 1755.
