Patriots on the peninsula flee to Canada and siege at Brockville
A report details Patriots sailing to Canada from the peninsula about 260 strong, seizing McCormic’s island provisions, and repurposing cattle hides and an ox mill. They detained Canadian escort in sleighs, repaired a vessel, and faced reports of a larger pursuit. Letters describe engagements near Point au Selée island and Brockville. The Kingston public fears attack while militia mobilizes as Patriots advance toward Kingston Prescott and other towns.
