Terms state a two dollar annual subscription payable half yearly with a renewal at two dollars and fifty cents after one year. Papers not discontinued until arrears are settled unless editors choose. Ads run three times for one dollar per square with twenty five cents each additional insertion. Liberal yearly advertising discounts offered. Most country produce accepted as payment.
An account from the N O Bulletin recounts Gen. Houston's orders to destroy La Bahia and retreat to Victoria. Captain Kings company fights at Mission, the Georgia battalion aids, and a large Texian force collapses under 1900 enemy troops. After heavy casualties and a surrender, prisoners are paroled and ferried to Copano, with details of the brutal march and escape stories.
A historical excerpt notes a curious animal encounter with a crocodile watching a kingfisher, followed by an obituary sketch praising a deceased woman whose travels and writings moved friends.
