Whig State Convention Nominates Scott Graham Ticket
The Whig State Convention at Columbus on the 21st inst adopted a pro Scott and Graham platform. Delegates from counties reported encouragement, with hundreds of Free Soilers and Democrats pledging support. Hiram Griswold was chosen President. The ticket includes Dennison for Governor, Mansfield for Lieutenant Governor, and a slate for Congressional and state offices. A state central committee was named and resolutions praised Gen. Scott’s public service and the unity of Whigs across states. A large evening meeting at City Hall followed, with spirited addresses and strong enthusiasm for the ticket.
