Marriage Adventure at Saratoga Ends in Elopement
Miss Simper, heiress daughter of a Baltimore broker, meets Maj. Fitzconnell at the fountain in Saratoga. After daily meetings and a rapid courtship, they wed and travel toward New York. On a final talk by the inn, she reveals she is penniless except for her, while he discovers he is broke too. He arranges a night stage to New York and leaves her to begin life with a husband in name only.
