Seabury Ford for Governor in Huron Reflector notice
In this 1848 Norwalk issue the Huron Reflector advertises Seabury Ford of Geauga County as gubernatorial candidate. The paper attacks President Polk over supposedly recalling Gen. Scott from Mexico, cites Cass in the Senate, and rumors of a New York reception with illumination and a dinner at the Astor House, suggesting Polk may reach the White House on March 4.

Farmers and Mechanics Association of Northern Ohio bill
Legislation last week covered local matters with minor changes to the apportionment bill likely to pass. On the 22nd Mr. Hamilton introduced a bill to incorporate the Farmers and Mechanics Association of Northern Ohio at Huron in Erie county. In the House Mr. Atherton presented remonstrances by 128 Huron county citizens against extending nuisance prevention provisions to Pike and Huron counties and 60 Durea county residents joined the same objection. The Columbus correspondents delayed, leaving some details unavailable this week.
