Child Hit On Main Street In Huntley
Tina Meadows six, daughter of Mrs Dorothy Meadows of 41 Main Street Huntley, was struck Sunday evening crossing from the carnival to her home. She suffered head lacerations and a partially broken ankle and was treated at Woodstock hospital. Driver Judith A Kaulfuss of 492 East Chicago Street Elgin was ticketed for careless driving.

Tornado alert at Hantley's Legion shelter
A tornado warning Saturday afternoon at about 3:15 prompted about 25 residents to seek refuge in the American Legion Home basement. Don Enstrom monitored from upstairs with a radio while a mattress sheltered children. Cleanup would be needed if the shelter is used again.

An attempted break-in occurred at Freund Implement Co on Route 47 and Main Street at 12:30 a.m. Sunday June 11. A window in the Main Street door was broken. a resident heard it and alerted police. No arrests, but Huntley police pursue several leads.

Police report elementary collision in Huntley in front of the United Church of Christ on Main Street. Mrs. Rakestraw of the State Bank of Huntley said she pulled right to turn into the church driveway and was struck by a car driven by Barbara Dannmeyer of Huntley. Damage only reported.

Huntley Lions Club installed new officers at a June 10 dinner at Embers east of Elgin following a chicken and roast beef meal. Retiring president Wayne Miller introduced Zone Chairman Richard Kirchoff who led the ceremonies.
