City council weighs sewer funding and terrace repairs
The council heard a planned fiscal agent on sewer funding but he did not appear. Emergency work includes backhoe use to rebuild terraces near the golf course with 50 percent cost share from the Soil Conservation Service. Dent said heavy rains washed a hole, three to five truckloads of clay and one day’s work will seed area. street work and unlicensed car removal discussed but no action. Judy Lloyd a senior at Aurelia High School has been accepted as a freshman at the School of the Ozarks Point Lookout MO with a four year tuition scholarship and on campus work study. She also receives a renewable Mid American Baptist Women scholarship. Lloyd is National Honor Society and active in theater music and 4-H.

Jodi Heston of Weldon wins a $1600 trustee scholarship from the American Institute of Business. She will enter AIB this fall pursuing an associate of business degree with a court reporting major. Heston, daughter of Mr and Mrs Perry Heston, hails from Mormon-Trail High School. Founded in 1921, AIB is a junior college of business with over 1000 students in 18 fields.
