Obituary for Earl R. Johnson Retired Humboldt businessman
Earl R. Johnson 87, well known Humboldt businessman, died Tuesday at Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. Funeral Thursday at 2 pm at United Methodist Church with Dr. Ralph Kitterman officiating. Burial in Union Cemetery. Lindhart Funeral Home in charge. Survived by wife Frances, son Roland Johnson, daughter Phyllis Watson, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Johnson born November 20, 1895 in Elliott, Iowa. WWI veteran. career with J.C. Penney and later Johnson Department Store in Humboldt. He was a life member of the American Legion, Mason, Za-Ga-Zig Shrine, past Humboldt Chamber of Commerce president, and longtime Lions Club secretary.
