Obituary for Earl R. Johnson Retired Humboldt businessman

Earl R. Johnson 87, well known Humboldt businessman, died Tuesday at Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. Funeral Thursday at 2 pm at United Methodist Church with Dr. Ralph Kitterman officiating. Burial in Union Cemetery. Lindhart Funeral Home in charge. Survived by wife Frances, son Roland Johnson, daughter Phyllis Watson, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Johnson born November 20, 1895 in Elliott, Iowa. WWI veteran. career with J.C. Penney and later Johnson Department Store in Humboldt. He was a life member of the American Legion, Mason, Za-Ga-Zig Shrine, past Humboldt Chamber of Commerce president, and longtime Lions Club secretary.

Leslie Presler 75 of Thor died Wednesday at Humana Hospital Phoenix after a 10 day stay. Funeral arrangements are pending at Lindhart Funeral Home. He is survived by wife Ann. sons Kenneth Thor and Keith Sauk Center. daughters Kathryn Ersland Phoenix and Donna Moklebust Dalhart. 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

The Dakota City Congregate Meal program lists meals for March 14 to 18 with a one day advance reservation at 332-3192. Eligibility for home bound meals requires a person aged 60 or older or disabled. Dahl couple welcomes son at Humboldt County Memorial

Jerry and Foula Dahl of Rutland welcomed a son on March 6 at Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. Daniel Owen weighed 7 pounds 14 1/2 ounces, their second child. Grandparents are Carol and Flora Knowles and Ardis Dahl, all of Rutland, with great grandparents Ray and Irene Wilcox of Humboldt and Mrs Gainard Knowles of Dakota City. Rick and Linda Fey of rural Palmer welcomed a daughter on March 7 at Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. Erica Marie weighed 8 pounds 10 ounces, their first child. Grandparents are Ronald Abens of rural Gilmore City and Arnold Fey of Marcus, with great grandparents Waiter Abens of Manson and Martin Mengelsen of Spencer.
