Hubbard blood drawing sets community donation record
Last week's Hubbard blood drawing topped expectations with 285 pints donated by residents including 75 Hubbard High students. Two residents were named two gallon donors by the Mahoning Chapter Red Cross, George Kroynovich and Robert Kelley, who have now donated in every Hubbard drawing. The event honored Mayor Arthur Magee and Hubbard Blood Bank Chairman C. Robert Kelley, with Dravis presenting plaques for leadership. The program, begun October 1976, has seen 3,769 units collected over 15 prior visits, averaging 251 units per visit, and owes much to volunteers and church groups across the community.

Hubbard Council renews three year fire contract with township
Hubbard city council renewed a three year pact with Hubbard Township for fire protection. The $400 quarterly payments and $5 per call remain in force from Oct 1 to Sept 30, 1982. Gerald Wittenauer will fill Patton Gilliland’s Union Cemetery Board seat, and Gilliland is commended for his service.
