Hubbard High School junior class presents The Diary of Anne Frank in the auditorium Friday at 8:15 p.m. Joanna Becadoni stars as Anne with Ken Maruskin Peter VanDaan and Dana Louis Margot Frank. Admission is one dollar, preschool children free.
Hubbard Public School District invites children eligible for kindergarten or first grade in 1965 66 to register during April 5 9 at Reed Elementary Roosevelt Elementary and Chestnut Ridge Elementary. Bring birth certificate proof of age and immunization records including DTP OPV and smallpox vaccine.

Hubbard J Emerson Davis reminds all business and individual taxpayers of the April 15 filing deadline for city income tax. A quarter of 1965 tax is due with the 1965 Hubbard Declaration Tax Returns. Tax office in City Hall assists with returns from 9 am to 5 pm daily except Wednesday afternoons and all day Saturday.
Hubbard Group 307 will host the Slovak Catholic Sokol semi annual meeting on Sunday April 4 at 1 p.m. in Sharon Pennsylvania. An planned buffet luncheon will be served and reservations are available by calling Hruska or Mrs Weller.
Hubbard Rotary Club sets April 17 deadline for birthday and anniversary listings in the Hubbard Community Birthday Calendar. Calendars run July through next June, covering the school year, delivered to subscribers between June 15 and July. Dr. Thomas Crowe chairs the project.
Trumbull County prosecutor allows Hubbard Township trustees to lease a new fire station site with Hubbard city, not invest funds directly. Building cost about 4000 dollars to be shared by city and township with bids planned in 30 days. Completion expected by end of May. a 1964 bid previously set truck costs at 20453 dollars with delivery delayed to June 1 due to production issues.
Hubbard High School students Barbara Dubyak and Diane Doyle prepare for a Cancer Crusade fundraiser. They represent student organizations at the high school and will seek contributions at various business places on April 9 and 10 before the main drive.
Robert J. Knuff of Hubbard received a top award at the Professional Photographers of Ohio Inc convention in Columbus. His five entries included four wins, with one print earning a Court of Honor for an out of state entry. Knuff’s four winning portraits feature his children and will advance to the national convention in New York City.
Ina B Cooper announces 61 new voters registered at Hubbard office and 364 total new voters registered at five county board offices. Deadline passed. those not registered cannot vote in the May 4 primary. New signups only at Chestnut Ave Warren office. transfers and name changes require registration.
Two board members Clyde Kelley and Frank Mumpfer resigned to Mayor Frank D. Washington after protracted talks on city employee job classifications. The board, with Guy Shippoli, drafted a 1963 plan. hearings began in February 1964 and a revised plan was nearly ready. The resignations stem from delays in making classifications workable, with mayor to present to council next Monday.
Hubbard area welcomes the Hidden Valley Restaurant at 2019 Coitsville Hubbard Rd with proprietors Mr. and Mrs. Jack Romeo. Grand opening features WKBN live broadcasts 8 to 10 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Italian dishes seafood and American favorites highlight the menu. Banquet facilities serve up to 200 while dining room seats 85. Hours daily 4 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. except Sunday 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Hubbard hosts the second annual American Field Service sponsored basketball doubleheader at Hubbard Junior High gym on Tuesday April 4. Ohio and Pennsylvania high school seniors from Mercer Lawrence County Chaney Boardman Green ville Sharon and others will compete under the Silver Fox banner with proceeds aiding the AFS foreign exchange program. Bruce Currie leads the event with Hubbard High principal C A Jones as AFS president.
Paul Denison earns winter quarter Dean's list at Ohio State University with a 35 point average. He will co edit the editorial page of the Ohio State Lantern for the spring quarter, a publication run by journalism students with a daily circulation of 15 000 copies.
In Hubbard changes at the News Reporter office 47 Oak Knoll Drive include Walter Mills joining to cover Hubbard sports. The paper adds a new schedule with coverage of Trumbull County Courthouse Warren and local law enforcement, while Jim Swearingen shifts to Sports Editor and coordinates sports across the News Reporter Girard News and Daily Times.
