Township Opposes City Annexation Proposal in Talks Plan

Hubbard officials unanimously oppose the city’s so called golden block annexation plan arguing it would capture tax income from rich industrial properties in a 550 acre area north of the city. Trustees say negotiations should happen only if the city agrees to talks, with public input seen as key and annexation hearings to be influenced by a 2,000 volunteer group from the township of 10,000 residents.

Hawaii Tour Party Tuesday at Alberini's Restaurant

The Niles Publishing Company hosts a Hawaii Tour Party next Tuesday at 8 30 PM at Alberini's Restaurant on The Strip in Niles. Travel experts from the Warren Auto Club will discuss 15 day deluxe tours to the islands including visits to the Outer Islands and Honolulu with trips planned for March June July and October 1976. City to drill test well for Hubbard water supply

Hubbard city council authorized a $5,500 contract to Moody and Associates to drill a 20 acre test parcel east of Hubbard for a potential future water supply. The measure passed as an emergency to verify water quantity and quality before exercising an option, while Mayor Arthur Magee noted the project is exploratory.
