25 Candidates Seek Hubbard Homecoming Queen

Hubbard Board names Loren Briggs as new superintendent
The Hubbard Board of Education on Tuesday night hired Loren Briggs 37 of Utica Ohio as superintendent of Hubbard Public Schools. Briggs comes from North Fork Schools in Utica where he led for four years and earlier served as assistant superintendent for Licking County Public Schools for four years. He will begin a three year contract at a 12000 salary and replaces Dr Kenneth D St John who moves to Atlantic Christian College Wilson North Carolina. Briggs is a World War II Air Force veteran with degrees from Denison University and Ohio University and is pursuing a doctorate at Ohio State University. He is married with two daughters Chera Lynn and Kimberly Sue. The board also accepted the resignation of an elementary teacher William J Markovich and set July 10 for public hearing on the 1963 school budget.
