St. Patrick School honors its eighth grade during a June 5 Mass and reception. Rev. Murphy and Rev. Strader led the service as diplomas and awards were given. Ann Augustyn and Carrie Hudak earned top scholar honors with other students achieving 91 percent averages.

Keynote speaker June 13 is Stanford Ovshinsky, Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Thomas Moyer speaks June 15, with awards after. Shoemaker opened the event June 12. Ovshinsky founded Energy Conversion Devices and led a major energy startup.

Hubbard Kiwanis Club sponsors Little Miss and Young Miss Hubbard pageants open to Hubbard City or Township residents. Young Miss is ages five to eight, Little Miss ages nine to twelve. Entry fee is 15 dollars, due by June 20, with finals July 14 at 7 p.m. in Roma Manor. Master of ceremonies will be Bill Cannon, and Mayor Sauline will award city keys.

Grace Lutheran Church marks 125th anniversary observances
Grace Lutheran Evangelical Lutheran Church at 111 Hall Ave celebrates 125 years since 1864 in Hubbard. Six events mark the year from February through November including a concert by Rev. Don Doerfer, a memorial dedication by Bishop Robert Kelley, a birthday event for former pastor William Slates, a balloon release and tree planting, and a September heritage celebration with a History of Grace playlet and guest speaker Rev.
