CSB Insures Itself as Self-Insurance Continues
Children Services Board now operates with self insurance after the St Paul Fire and Marine policy ended June 1. Trumbull County commissioners approved transferring 100000 from the board’s operating fund to cover the lapse while bids are sought, with an expected total coverage over 1 million for staff, board members, foster parents and volunteers at 8001 per year. No bids were submitted when the policy ended and a June 26 bid opening is planned. Director Craig Neuman remains hopeful for a new insurer and notes there has never been a claim against the board. If a suitable quote is found, funds will be returned to the general fund and the coverage is seen as interim.
