Hubbard Mahoning Valley Cablevision will offer Cinemax the new pay channel from Home Box Office. A ten day free preview starts June 15 on Channel 5 for MCV subscribers. A 24 hour telethon on June 23 promotes HBO and Cinemax, with no repeats promised for the month.

New Donors Needed for Hubbard Blood Drawing
Hubbard New donors are needed for the Tuesday June 9 blood drawing at St Patrick church hall from 1 PM to 7 PM. Since the first Red Cross blood drive October 14, 1975, 1,430 different people have contributed. With Hubbard’s 17,000 population and donors aged 17 to 65, 1,430 is a solid base, but moved or aged-out donors create urgency for fresh donors.

Girard appoints James D'Eramo Hubbard school chief
James D'Eramo, former assistant superintendent in Girard, will become Hubbard's new superintendent on July 1 under a two year contract worth 37000 dollars per year. Hubbard Board of Education voted unanimously after executive session to hire him. Morrell has been acting superintendent since July 1980 while Eve McKee serves as acting assistant.
