Voters weigh many races in Trumbull County June primary

In the June 8 primary voters in Trumbull County face numerous contests. Democrats hold most tenders with 59,889 of 125,029 registered. School Board cuts kindergarten day to save 34000

The Hubbard School system shifts kindergarten to full day on alternating days to save 34000, with Chestnut Ridge close planned to save about 50000. Kindergartners attend 830 am to 230 pm in two halves of the year, trading days in the second half. Busing reduced to morning drop only, with Roosevelt and Ridge principals confirming the change.

School levy key issue on ballot

Voters in the city and township will decide on a 7-mill operating levy on June 8 to fund district operations amid state budget cuts. The measure could raise about 889,000 annually starting 1983, costing about $1 extra per day per child in single-child families and 54 cents per day for families with multiple children.

Hubbard High School to graduate 279 in 1982 class

Hubbard High School will graduate 279 members of the class of 1982 in ceremonies Sunday at 4 p.m. at Hall Memorial Football Stadium. Valedictorian Melody Haddenham and Salutatorian Robert Mitchell lead a list of 1982 graduates with remarks by Superintendent James D'Eramo and clergy including Rev. Russell Hurd and Rev. James Phillips.
