Hubbard Board Approves 1961 62 Budget for Schools
The Hubbard Board of Education approved a 1961 62 budget of 1 261 015 an increase of 54 000 over last year to fund additional teachers and wage increases. A public hearing preceded the vote with no opposition and the figure was approved as reported at the June 27 meeting. The board also accepted North American Insurance accident coverage at 2 per child for kindergarten to grade 12 and 3 for high school students with Robert Hogg as local agent. A walk in cooler for the Junior High Roosevelt cafeteria was deferred and athletic program changes were discussed with plans to study minor sports against broader participation goals.

State and County Officials to Attend Homecoming Parade
City leaders report that multiple state officials including Governor DiSalle and Attorney General McElroy will attend the Hubbard Homecoming parade. Lt. Gov. Donahey may also appear if possible.
