August gowns showcased by Niles costumers at national convention
Niles residents will display replicas of inaugural gowns at the National Costumers Association convention in Washington D C this August. Erna Kautz of Masters Costumes will bring 12 dresses spanning 1800 to 1900 with Elizabeth Monroe to Jackie Kennedy among them and hopes to add Rosalyn Carter's gown after securing a description and photo from the White House.

The Rev. John M. Hinerman, Hubbard First United Methodist Church pastor for eight years, is transferred by Bishop James Thomas to the Tallmadge church effective July 1. He is replaced by the Rev. Harold Milford. Hinerman praised Hubbard's people and cited chapel construction in Mwada Muteba Zaire, mortgage payoff, church prayer growth, and youth ministers as key moments. He and his wife Patricia reside at 330 Christian Ave with sons John Jr. and Russell in college.
