Bonaquist Heads Hubbard Township Trustees In 1961
At a recent reorganization Chester Bonaquist was named president of the Hubbard Township Trustees for 1961. Dale Butler was re-elected vice president and Joe Hogg joined as the third trustee. The board renewed several hires including John Handrush highway superintendent and other staff. A fire protection contract with Coitsville Township was extended to March 31, 1961, with Coitsville aiming to operate its own department by April.

City approves 1961 Public Affairs budget of 427906

Art Magee Seeks Seat on City Council at Large
Arthur Magee 24 of 128 Liberty St. filed nominating petitions to run as a councilman at large on the Democratic ticket in the May primary. Traffic fines totaled 17 491 in 1960
Mayor Robert Allen reported to the city council that 17 491.93 was collected last year in fines, fees, pictures, licenses and meter collections. The city’s share was 17 054.17 with 691.60 collected in December. Total 1960 revenue exceeded 1959 by 8 411.91 while the village share fell by 3 226.07 from 20 282.24.

Richard Scullin announced his intention to run for city solicitor in the May Democratic primary joining John Cook as the two declared candidates. Scullin, a Grove City College and Western Reserve Law School graduate, has practiced law since 1948 and has held civic roles including Chamber of Commerce secretary and Community Chest president.
