Police budget cut in Hubbard Township 1990 plan
Hubbard Township trustees announced a trimmed 1990 police budget at the February 20 meeting. Part time officers will have fewer hours and officials stressed the cuts are temporary, aiming to restore full coverage within about 90 days, with Chief Howard Bradley pledging to cover all areas.
Trustees oppose Masury Water rate hike in Hubbard Township
Hubbard Township trustees oppose a 1.5 percent Masury Water Co rate increase set to take effect around March 20. The board noted the rise would lift the average bill from 41.91 to 48.31 monthly and cited dissatisfaction with the rate compared to other systems. Trustees also thanked patrolman John Evans and zoning inspector Eli Moga for actions against garbage dumping resulting in a $500 fine and probation for the violator.

Sewer project funds gain official okay
Hubbard City Council learned at its Feb 20 meeting that approval is secured for Issue 2 funds for the Westview Parish storm sewer project. The 190000 dollar work will cost the city under 10000, with Issue 2 covering most of 169000 and Trumbull County contributing. The new Sewage Treatment Plant passed a rain test and operated to handle 11 million gallons. Council also authorized bids for remote meters and noted two new police cruisers.
