The Hubbard Board of Education approved partial purchase of 32 musical instruments and a nine day candy drive for band uniforms. Band director William C Moody outlined needs for instruments and 25 uniforms while Band Boosters spoke of a $2700 fundraising goal led by Ralph Cooper.

Hubbard Township Voters Association weighs sheriff protection
Hubbard Township Voters Association discussed entering a contract with the sheriff department for police protection at a February 21 meeting. Ministers Use Sunday Closings to Test Blue Law
The Hubbard Ministerial Association led by Rev. Harry A. Hull staged a Sunday shopping trip to prove Sunday closings may be enforced. Hull bought six red apples and clothespins at Devine’s Valu King and pressed for legal action in Girard Municipal Court. Other pastors visited multiple stores buying small items as Loblaws A&P and Golden Dawn remained closed.

The Hubbard News supports a fundraising drive for Pat Bosley a Hubbard High School graduate seriously ill in the Cleveland Clinic. Contributions are invited at The Hubbard News 47 Oak Knot Dr Hubbard 44425 or to The Dollar Savings and Trust Hubbard Branch. The goal covers dialysis costs staff and travel with several community events planned to raise funds. Pat has been in treatment since December with high expenses and a possible kidney transplant costing about 14000.
